Frequently asked questions

Are the treats safe for my pet?

Every pet is unique, and that means their chewing habits can vary quite a bit! That’s why it’s super important to keep an eye on your four-legged friend whenever they’re enjoying a chew. If you’re introducing something new, start with short, supervised sessions to see how they handle it.

Not all chews are created equal, and at Farm to Fang, we take pride in offering only the best. Our chews are made with care—healthy, thoughtfully sourced, and gently dehydrated at low temperatures (140–160°F) to help keep them safe. This process makes bones more brittle, so dogs can crush them more easily before swallowing.

That said, bones aren’t the right fit for every pet. Things like jaw strength, chewing style, and patience all play a role in how safely your pet can enjoy bone-based treats. Bigger, thicker bones come with bigger risks, especially if sharp edges form during chewing.

If there's one thing we always recommend: always supervise your pet while they chew, and make sure they have plenty of fresh, clean water nearby.

It’s the best way to keep snack time safe and happy!

Does my dog need to chew?

Chewing is one of the best things your dog can do! Just 10 minutes of chew time helps release feel-good endorphins in their brain, leaving your pup relaxed and proud of themselves. It’s not just a fun way to burn off energy—it keeps their mind busy, too. Plus, regular chewing helps clean teeth and gums, which means your dog can enjoy a healthier, longer life with fewer dental troubles down the road.

What treat would you recommend for an older dog?

For senior dogs, our Beef Lungs would be a good option. If your senior dog does not have many teeth, the Lungs would be a good option because they are soft and will
break easily into smaller pieces.

How do I store my order?

No refrigeration is required—dehydration preserves our products and makes them shelf-stable. Store in a cool, dry place.

Bagged treats: Use within 4 weeks of opening for best freshness.

Chews: Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months without refrigeration.

All dehydrated items are free of preservatives and pesticides, but improper storage can cause bugs or mold. For chews and hides, avoid sealing in moisture-trapping containers; let them air out before storing. For longer-term storage, use a fridge or freezer to keep products fresh and pest-free.

Why are some products out of stock?

We use a multi-species rotational grazing practice and process different species throughout the year. This means not every animal is raised and slaughtered year-round, resulting in some products being seasonal.

Are your products made in the USA?

Yes! Yes, all our animals are born and raised in Missouri, either on our farm or on the other family farms we partner with.

What is Pasture-Based?

When we say pasture-based, we mean it the good old-fashioned way — animals raised the way God intended. Our chickens, cows, and sheep spend their days out on green pastures, soaking up sunshine, breathing fresh air, and foraging on natural grasses and bugs — not standing shoulder-to-shoulder in crowded CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation).

They’re moved to fresh grass regularly, given plenty of room to roam, and never treated with vaccines, antibiotics or growth hormones. This way of raising animals takes more time and care, but it’s better for the animals, the land, and ultimately, your pets.

Pasture-based meats are naturally richer in nutrients, higher in healthy fats, and full of the deep, clean flavor that only comes from animals raised right. It’s food you can feel good about.
